Subject: Important Notice: APICS CSCP Program Update
Dear APICS International Partner,
As we informed you in April, to support APICS' strategic priority to implement a process to regularly update APICS courseware and ensure APICS certification programs reflect current professional practice, the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) program will be updated for the 2012 educational year. This update will enable APICS to maintain the credibility and high quality standards of the certification.
Candidate and customer communications will begin very soon. Please encourage candidates and students to complete their APICS CSCP designation this year. Classes using the 2011 APICS CSCP Learning System should continue to be scheduled as planned with the understanding that students should participate in the December 2011 exam window. In addition, there will be a final opportunity for candidates to take the 2011 exam in April and May 2012. The communication at this link outlines the exam options for candidates currently participating in the certification process.
Please review the communication and pass it along to your class participants. There will be a separate notice for the general public this month, so please do not forward this message to your members.
The 2012 APICS CSCP Learning System is scheduled for release in November 2011. The 2012 certification exam updates will appear on exams beginning in March 2012.
Notes about APICS CSCP Program Update
The changes will be based on updates to the APICS CSCP Exam Content Manual which resulted from information received from the recently conducted APICS CSCP Job Task Analysis; feedback from the market; and changes in the business environment since the APICS CSCP program was first introduced in 2005.
- An outline of content changes from the 2011 to the 2012 APICS CSCP Learning System will be available to purchasers and instructors.
- The new Exam Content Manual is being reviewed by a team of global subject matter experts to ensure that operations management and supply chain management professionals around the world will continue to benefit from the APICS CSCP designation.
- Instructor's comments will be solicited and incorporated as appropriate through the usual feedback process.
While there have been minor annual updates to the program, we have not conducted a major update of this certification since its launch. This project is a necessity to ensure that the content remains relevant. We believe that these courseware updates will help secure the APICS CSCP program's position as the most well-respected supply chain certification worldwide. We hope you will participate in the launch of the second generation of this very successful product.
If you have any questions about update, please contact the APICS International Services Department at international@apics.org.
